Introduction Civil Department
In January 2012, the institute started a B.Sc. Civil Engineering program in Quaid-e-Azam college of Engineering and Technology Sahiwal with the affiliation of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. Zero visit of PEC was held on 14th September 2012 with the purpose to check the state and infrastructure of the department. This successful visit was followed by the interim visit of PEC team on 25th June 2014. Five batches i.e. 2012-16, 2013-17, 2014-18, 2015-19, 2016-20, 2017-2021 and 2018-2022 have been accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) till now. Moreover, Batch 2016-20 has been accredited on OBE Level-II by Pakistan Engineering Council. The civil engineering department has highly qualified and dedicated faculty from the renowned universities of Pakistan who teaches the updated courses under Outcome-Based Education system (OBE) supported by state-of-the-art laboratories.
Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works such as buildings, bridges, flyovers, under passes, roads, railway tracks, airports, docks and harbors, factories, dams, barrages, canals, water supply schemes and sewerage systems etc.
Civil engineering graduate of QCET Sahiwal affiliated with UET Lahore has sufficient opportunities of getting jobs in various government/private departments i.e. Communication and Works (C and W), Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Punjab Irrigation and Power Engineering Department, Civil Aviation Authority, Pakistan Railways, National Highway Authority (NHA), Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), Public Health Engineering Department, National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), Associated Consultant Engineers (ACE), National Development Consultants (NDC), SKB Engineering and Construction, Descon Engineering Limited and many more.
