Lab Objective:- Study of small instruments. To perform tensile test on a specimen using universal Testing Machine to draw stress strain diagram showing different regions and to calculate the Modulus of Elasticity %age increase in length. To perform Compression test on a specimen using universal Testing Machine to draw stress strain diagram showing different regions and to calculate the Modulus of Elasticity. The following experiment is designed to substantiate the correlation between shear stress and angle of shear. Transverse and punching shear test on mild steel. Tension test on plain mild steel bars. Comparison of compressive strength of wooden cubes. Bending test on wooden beams. Verification of the principal of superposition by beam deflection. To determine the shear modulus of rubber specimen. To study the bending of a zee section. To determine the shear center of channel section. To determine the elastic critical load of model column with various end conditions. Rockwell hardness test on low and high carbon steel samples. Charpy impact test on steel specimens.
